Market Entry.

Choosing the right market is the difference between a launch that compounds and one that stalls. We read the market, time the entry and set the route before a single unit ships.

French brand DAY+: a disciplined, step-by-step expansion from Iceland Perfumery, Galeries Lafayette Qatar, KaDeWe Berlin or Stockmann Helsinki to Harrods Beauty UK, recognised as Personal Care Product of the Year at Beautyworld Middle East.
The problem

Most brands expand by accident.

Expansion usually starts with an opportunity, not a strategy. A distributor makes contact, a market looks exciting, an order is placed, and a brand is selling somewhere before anyone has asked whether it is the right market, at the right moment, on the right shelf.

A brand gets one credible first impression in each market, and rarely the cash to buy a second. Launch in the wrong place, or the right place the wrong way, and the season is gone: stock tied up, the distributor’s goodwill spent, and a false start to explain to the next buyer who asks.

How Valérie works

Read the market before you commit.

Valérie reads the market before anything ships: which countries suit the brand now, which come later, which are not worth the cost of entry, and the route that actually reaches each one, whether that is prestige retail, a department store, specialist distribution or television shopping.

Thirty-five years across sixty countries mean she has watched how these markets behave, not read how a deck says they will. The order is deliberate, so the first door makes the next one easier to open, and she will say plainly when a market is not ready for the brand, or the brand for the market. That judgement is why the introductions that follow convert.

What this covers.

  • 01

    Market selection and feasibility

A clear read on which markets suit the brand now, which come later and which to leave alone, with the reasoning behind each, so you can hold your nerve when a tempting distributor calls from the wrong country.

  • 02

    A market-ready programme

A plan built on the brand’s real position, potential and appetite, from the opening audit to implementation, sequenced so each launch is resourced properly rather than spread thin across too many at once.

  • 03

    The right route to market

Prestige retail, travel retail, department store, distribution or TV shopping, chosen for the brand and the market rather than out of habit. Innoxa reached Taiwan, Benelux, Eastern Europe and Finland through television shopping, pharmacy, perfumery and drugstore distribution, where the shelf alone would have been slower and dearer.

  • 04

    Entry sequencing and pricing

Price, positioning and the order of doors planned together, so the margin holds on the shelf the brand wants and every opening builds the credibility of the one after it.

Every market below is one we can point at: a door opened for a brand on this site, from an independent perfumery in Iceland to a department store in Finland and television shopping in Taiwan. The practice reaches more than sixty countries; these are the ones with a story attached.
